Mel O. captures the moment, evoking emotions that are freeform and spontaneous. The painting process is like an unplanned road trip without a map, taking turns, stopping to appreciate the views and enjoying the mystery of the final destination and outcome. Colors and contours remain her greatest inspirations. The newest works are an evolution of many years of self taught painting and passionate experimentation. Her favorite mediums are acrylic, encaustic and mixed media, which include re-purposed packaging, acorns, fabric scraps and thread.
